This unit is used to inspect cast iron and steel engine components for cracks, including cylinder heads, engine blocks, crankshafts, connecting rods, and other ferrous parts.
This is an extremely powerful magnetic yoke. During years of professional use in our machine shop, we found it consistently produced a stronger magnetic field than many smaller portable units. In side-by-side shop testing, it located cracks that less powerful units failed to reveal.
It will lift a 42-pound cast iron cylinder head, demonstrating the strength of its magnetic field.
