582ci Big Block Chevy racing engine built with top-of-the-line components. Features a Dart block, Callies crankshaft, CP 14:1 pistons, Manley rods, and Edelbrock 23-degree heads with extensive port work by Slawko. The intake is port matched, with a 2" spacer also port matched to the intake. Equipped with Jesel shaft rockers, Jesel belt drive, PAC valve springs, and black powder-coated valve covers.
The engine has 127 runs since its last freshen-up and has proven to be extremely reliable and consistent. It ran 4.70s in a dragster at 1,975 lbs with Big Bubba, 4.10 gears, and a 1050 Gas Stinnett T-Stop carb. Best ET was a 4.63 in ideal weather, with 177–178 mph in Super Comp trim. The engine was recently run in March and bracket raced twice in April before being pulled.
The only reason for removing it was purchasing an engine set up for big nitrous for a move into PDRA Top Dragster. This engine has never been sprayed with nitrous. The last two passes in the car varied only .000 at every increment, showing how consistent this combination is.
